Mascot Design Contest

Theme: 150 years of IMD

To commemorate the remarkable 150-year journey of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, IMD proudly announce IMD’s Mascot Designing Contest in collaboration with MyGov. Event invites participants to unleash their creativity by conceptualizing a unique and engaging mascot representing the India Meteorological Department. Participants are encouraged to design a character that embodies IMD's values, mission, and commitment to building a resilient and informed society. The contest offers an exciting opportunity to blend creativity with purpose, as the winning mascot will become an iconic figure in IMD’s outreach and public engagement efforts.

What to submit

  • A high quality JPG/PNG image of mascot designed. 
  • The mascot must be eye-catching and depict the finer ideas of the theme.
  • The entries should be accompanied by a brief description of the mascot and how best it encapsulates the essence of the theme.

  • The participant must provide his / her name, email address, telephone number, postal address, district, state, etc. By submitting the contact details, the participants will give consent for these details to be used for the competition.

  • Participants should ensure that their MyGov profile is accurate and updated for further communication. This includes details such as name, latest photo, country declaration, complete postal address, email ID, and phone number. Entries with incomplete profiles will not be considered.
  • Plagiarism of any nature is not allowed. Participants found infringing on others' copyrights will be disqualified from the contest.

What to submit

  • The Badge design should be circular in shape.
  • The 150-year IMD logo must be contained in the badge's design. The logo can be placed anywhere within the badge design.
  • Please do not imprint or watermark any of the contact details in the badge design.
  • The badge should be designed in colour.
  • The design should preferably be 38mm (1.5 inch) in size.

  • The participant is to ensure that his/her MyGov profile is accurate and updated since the Department will use this for further communication. This includes the participant's name, contact number, photo, email address and postal address.

  • Participants should upload the logo in JPEG/PNG format only.
  • Participants should not imprint or watermark the calendar design.
  • A small description should be provided to explain the concept.
  • Calendar should be designed in colour. The size of the calendar Submissions should be in the standard wall calendar layout with a height of 22 inches and a width of 14 inches. Designs in any other size and layout will not be considered.
