1st call for fellowship in genetic diagnostic

Department of Biotechnology, Government of India has launched a 6 month "Fellowship in Genetic Diagnostics" for faculty/clinicals from Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals. The list of centres where the fellowship takes place is given in article. 

Eligibility

  • Candidate holding regular position in government medical colleges/hospitals.
  • Post Graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in any of the following: 
    • Pediatrics
    • Medicine or Obstericts & Gynaecology
    • Pathology
    • Microbiology
    • Biochemistry
    • Laboratory Hematology
    • Laboratory Medicine
    • Anatomy
    • Physiology
    • Dermatology
    • Hematology
    • Radiotherapy
    • Endocrinology
    • Opthalmology
    • Oncology
    • Any other clinical speciality
    • Any other paraclinical speciality
    • Any other superspeciality
Tenure of fellowship: April 2025 to September 2025

How to apply

  • Candidate need to send an email to training coordinator of the particular institute with following :
    • Application Form (given in official notification Pg. 3, 4)
    • Self-attested photocopies of following:
    • Degree Certificates
    • MCI registration certificate
    • Experience certificate
  • Also, Candidate need to cc rv.mahajan@dbt.nic.in ( Dr. Richi V. Mahajan , Scientist ‘D’, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India ).
  • The application need to be forwarded by Head (Director/Principal) of the institute.
  • Candidate should not apply for more than 2 fellowship centres.
  • Candidate need to send soft copies of the document via email followed by duly forwarded hard copy of the application along with copies of necessary certificates.
  • If there is delay in submitting the application through proper channel, candidate can submit advance copy within last date of application to consider candidature; and application through proper channel can be submitted so as to reach to the concerned training centre coordinator by 10th February 2025

Selection Process

  • Screening and selection will be based on the application form and performance in interview.
  • Evaluation criteria will include commitment to learn and the possibilities for implementation of the learned skills at the workplace.
  • Selected trainees will be eligible for the displacement allowance only if the trainee is not from the city where the training is placed.

Perks of the program

Stipend ₹30,000/- per month for trainees/clinicals from outstation institutes.
