ISRO Respond Basket 2024

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) invites R & D project proposals from academic and R & D institutions under the scheme sponsored research called “RESPOND”. The interested faculty/researchers may select the topics proposed in the RESPOND Basket 2024, which have direct bearing on space sector and submit these proposals online.

Eligibility

  • Either:
    • An individual affliateed to any academic institutions/autonomous R&D institute.
    • A scientist/faculty members affliated to any academic institutions/autonomous R&D institute.
  • Candidate cannot change the initial details of the institution once already registered. Only new bank account information and affiliated college details can be updated.
  • Eligibility for Principal Investigator:
    • Age limit: Maximum 65 years (Including project period).
    • Full-time employee of the concerned institute.

How to apply

  • Candidate can read choose preferred research center, check about research topic and read more about it on Respond basket.
  • The candidate neeed to register at IGRASP Portal via direct link and submit the proposal. 
  • The Head of the academic institution must forward proposals with application for research grants
  • The following documeent needs to be sent:
    • Detailed bio-data of all the investigators (Age also to be indicated) including publications/awards & recognition received.
    • Contact details: address, email id, telephone/fax numbers of investigators as well as the institution.
    • In case the institution belongs to Non-Government Category, NGO Darpan ID and PAN number of the institution.
    • Brief description of the research proposal including the objectives and the scientific/application merits of the work.
    • Description of the research methodology or technique to be used for the proposed project.
    • The extent of financial support needed from ISRO for executing the work within the shortest possible time.
    • A list of research projects related to the proposal undertaken or carried out through funding by other Agencies.
  • Scanned copy of the declaration form signed by head of the institution.
  • Once the proposal is submitted, it is not possible to edit the content.

Selection Process 

  • The submitted proposal will be subjected to critical evaluation by the ISRO/DOS Centre experts.
  • The proposal will be evaluated on the basis of novelty, methodology, approach, experience of the PI in the subject area, duration of the project, budget etc.

Summary of FAQ

  • A PI can submit proposals in response to more than one basket proposal.
  • Fund release will be done through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) portal only. After approval of the project, separate sanction order will be issued by DOS for release of grants through PFMS/CNA (Central Nodel Agency).
  • To update your personal data, login to your account in the i-grasp portal. Under “My Account”, you can update your personal details including publication list.
  • Candidate can edit submission before final submission and also save the proposal in between as draft.
  • Students are not eligible to register 
  • Candidate can see whether your institute is registered or not by going to home page of your login, click in “List of Institutions”. Candidate can search by the name of the institution.
