CSRP program

CEFIPRA provides funding support to high quality academic collaboration between India and France through research projects in the areas of fundamental and applied science to nurture scientific competency. The call is open for joint proposal by scientist researchers in India and French.

Eligibility

  • Principal Collaborators and Joint Collaborators (Indian & French) should have permanent position in an Indian or French University/R&D Institution. 
  • ORCID/Researcher ID is mandatory for submission of proposal under the programme
  • For Submission by same collaborators
    • If collaborators have submitted/implemented a CEFIPRA project, they can apply again if they fulfill the following conditions:
    •  If a scientist is already working in a project under CSRP sanctioned by CEFIPRA as Principal Collaborator (PC) or Joint Collaborator (JC), he/she cannot submit another project under same programme as PC or JC. 
    • There is no bar in applying for projects under other programmes of CEFIPRA while implementing a project under CSRP and vice-versa.
    •  If a scientist apply as a Joint Collaborator or Principal Collaborator in two different project proposals at a time, and in case both the proposals are sanctioned, the scientist must opt for either one of the project.
    • Collaborators who have implemented one project under CSRP and want to submit the second project, the following guidelines are applicable. 
    • A cooling off period of 5 years after completion of the previous project will be applicable
    • If implemented three projects under CEFIPRA programme as Principal Collaborator, he/she cannot apply for a fourth project as PC or JC.

How to apply

  • Candidate need to choose one of the project from given list. 
  • Candidate need to register and upload the documents (access from link).
  • Also, PI should submit a resume that should contain:
    • Name
    • Affiliation
    • The PI should clearly indicate his/her competency to carry out the project
    • The list of publications should include a maximum of 5-10 most recent papers pertaining to the relevance of the area of project. The bibliographical details of a paper should include author, title, journal name, year and other details. The status of the journals can also be provided in terms of its coverage by major global services like MEDLINE, Science Citation Index and Journal Impact Factor.  If the papers have received any citations, this can also be indicated (optional).
    • The PI should clearly declare conflict of interest
  • A proposal should be jointly submitted by one Principal Collaborator from India and one Principal Collaborator from France. 
  • There cannot be a second Principal Collaborator or Joint Principal Collaborator on either side. 
  • The two Principal Collaborators shall be responsible for conducting the project. 
  • In addition to the two Principal Collaborators, there may also be one or more Joint Collaborator(s) from India and France. 
  • The Joint Collaborators may be from the same institutions as the respective Principal Collaborators or from other institutions. 
  • A collaborator should have permanent position in an University/R&D institution of his/her respective country. 
  • Any change of Principal Collaborator(s) or Joint Collaborator(s) or the institution(s) where the work is being carried out should be done with the permission of CEFIPRA.

Selection Process

  • Initial screening at CEFIPRA
  • Pre-selection by Scientific Council
  • Peer-review in France & India
  • Decision by Scientific Council in its meeting based on peer review reports & Council’s own judgment
  • Candidate can then start project after
    • Approval by Governing Body of CEFIPRA 
    • Signed copy of check list from Indian Principal Collaborator for the clearance from Government of India
    • Sensitivity & Security Clearances from Indian & French Governments 
    • Receipt of signed copy of IPR Guidelines of CEFIPRA from the Principal Collaborators of the project. Release of funds for first year
  • Candidate can hire manpower and other resources by following guidelines provided.

  • Manpower: PhD/Post-Doc/Masters for French side
  • Recurring expenses: Consumables, Local travel, Contingencies
  • International Travel (For both PI, Co-PIs, students, etc.)
  • Equipment (only for Indian Collaborators-upto 10% of proposed budget) 
  • Total budget of the project should be within Euros 220000
  • Overhead for participating institutes as per CEFIPRA norms
