IIT Palakkad internship program 2025

IIT Palakkad, Kerala offers 6 weeks long residential programme which includes hands-on research training with a variety of hardware and software analaysis tool. The departments (subject/areas) that are available for internship are Automation, Biological Sciences and Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ESSENCE, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics. 

Eligibility

  • Either:
    • Indian national
    • Foreign nationals
  • Students of either:
    • Science
    • Engineering
    • Humanaties
  • Students who are either
    • Post graduates (including 4th and 5th year students of integrated master's programmes)
    • Undergraduate students of 3rd and 4th year
  • Students from IIT Palakkad are not eligible to apply for summer interships program of the institute.

Tenure of fellowship: May 21 2025 to July 2 2025

How to apply

  • Candidate need to chosse a research topic from Research area list.
  • Candidate then need to create a account on the portal (preferrably using gmail id )and apply for the internship.
  • Upon creating the account, a confirmation email will be sent to their email id for further steps, and candidate need to ensure that any third party spam blocker should not be activated, to prevent the email from reaching. 
  • Foreign national candidate need to apply before 25 Feb 2025 and others could apply till March 18

Selection Process

  • Selection will be made on the basis of academic record, aptitude for research, accomplishments and area(s) of research interest.
  • Declaration for selection will be made by March 11 2025 for foreign nationals and for others it would be made till April 08 2025.
  • Foreign nationals could send their confirmation to join internship till March 18 2025 and Indian national could send their application till April 15 2025.
  • Only those who satisfactorily complete the programme will be given the internship certificate.

  • Stipend of ₹8000 (₹12,000 for entired period)
  • Accommodation on a shared basis available on campus.
