Call for Internship at Ministry of External Affairs Term I - Stipend around ₹10,000/- per month and airfare

MEA Internship term 1

Ministry of External Affairs invites applications from eligible candidates for MEA Internship 2025-26 (Term – I). The internship is open for residents of some state of India and Interns will reside in Delhi during the Internship Period. An intern can use perks such as air-travel coverage and honorium to cover their living expenses during the internship. All other details are discussed further. The internship will be provided for minimum 1 month to maximum 3 month between April to September.

Eligibility

  • Age limit: 25 years maximum
  • Either: 
    • Graduate in any field
    • Final year student in any field where internship is mandatory part of curriculum.
  • Candidate needs to be resident of one of the following State/UT
  • Eligible States are as following:
    • Andhra Pradesh
    • Arunachal Pradesh
    • Assam
    • Bihar
    • Chhattisgarh
    • Goa
    • Gujarat
    • Haryana
    • Himachal Pradesh
    • Jharkhand
    • Karnataka
    • Kerala
    • Madhya Pradesh
    • Maharashtra
  • Eligible Union States are as following:
    • Andaman & Nicobar Islands
    • Chandigarh
    • Dadra and Nagar Haveli 
    • Daman and Diu
    • Delhi
Tenure :  Minimum 1 month to Maximum 3 months (April to September) 

How to apply 

  • Each candidate needs to register on the internship portal and obtain access credentials to participate in the process.
  • Candidate need to then select for how much time they want internship.
  • Candidate can select between 1 month to maximum 6 months of internship for anytime between April to September 2025.

Selection Process

  • The selection process will consist of two stages viz. Preliminary Screening and Personal Interview.
  • Selected candidates will be notified till 12 Feb 2025 and appear for interview (DVC) at 22 Feb 2025. 
  • Selected candidates then be given final results on 28 Feb 2025.
  • A minimum of 30% may be filled by women candidates. Weightage will be based on academic performance assessed by percentage of marks obtained in +2 and graduation exams.
  • Priority will be given to applicants from TADP districts during the Preliminary Screening stage and to applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories in the Personal Interview stage.
  • After selection, the interns would be responsible for their board and lodging in Delhi during the period of their internship.

  • Stipend around ₹10,000/- per month 
  • One time air fare to and pro from candiadate's destination to New Delhi
  • An intern can choose to terminate the internship giving prior notice of one week to the Ministry.In such cases, the cost of air travel, if any, will be recovered from the intern.
  • Work in various departments of MEA and under various officer
