KAIST Summer Internship 2025

KAIST Advanced Institute for Science-X (KAI-X) is accepting applications for the 2025 Summer KAI-X Research Internship Program. The internship is open to bachelors and masters student of science and medicine and is a great opportunity to spend their summer at KAIST, Korea. KAIST will provide air-fare, dormitory cost and a living expenses. The internship is for summer time and is of 7 weeks.

Eligibility

  • Either one of the following:
    • Overseas Undergraduate Students (3rd/4th year)
    • Graduate Students (Master course)
  • Candidates in field of natural science inlcuding either:
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Mathematics
    • Biology
    • Brain&Cognitive Science
    • Medical Science
Tenure of Internship: July 1 - August 16 (7 Weeks)

How to apply

  • Candidate need to dowload these from link:

    • Essay Template 
  • Candidate need to choose from three preferences of lab rom the KAIST Lab List and provide them by applying. 
  • Candiadate need to email to kai-x_internship@kaist.ac.kr the following documents:
    • Application form (Submit in excel format)
    • A single PDF consisting of :
      • An essay(activity plan) 
      • A proof of enrollment(Only official English documentation, issued within the last 3 months by your institute is accepted. Official stamps or signatures from the person in charge are required.)
      • An official transcript (Only official English documentation, issued within the last 3 months by your institute or a reliable institute, is accepted. Official stamps or signatures from the person in charge are required.)
      • A letter of recommendation (The recommendation letter must include the name of the student being recommended, the program name (2025 Summer KAI-X Research Internship Program), the date of recommendation, the signature of the recommender(professor), and the affiliation of the recommender(professor).

Selection Process

  • If chosen, candidate will be allocated to one laboratory from the three preferences they have indicated, where they will engage in research activities throughout the internship period.
  • Individual notifications regarding the selection outcome will be conveyed by March 31st , 2025.

  • Round-trip airfare (Max. limit 1 million KRW)
  • Dormitory cost (Max. limit 500,000/- KRW)
  • A living expense (500,000/- KRW)
