CERN presents corresponding associateship for scientist, researchers, faculty members to carry their development in the field of particle physics and related fields. CERN,  the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light.

Eligibility

  • Particle Physics and related fields
  • Either:
    • Research Position
    • Teaching Position
  • Holding regular position and remain in the position in an institute located in a CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • Residents of these nations are not eligible:
    • France
    • Italy
    • Germany
    • United Kingdom
Langugae known: English or French

Tenure of program: 6 months

Research Fellowship in experimental phsyics - International opportunity - Stipend around $7473 (₹6.9 lakh) per month

How to apply

  • Candidate can check their eligibility with CERN Checker tool available exclusively at yourfellows.
  • Candidate need to apply online with following documents:
    • A CV
    • A list of Publications
    • Three letters of recommendation (not older than1 year)
  • Candidate can upload letters at the time of application or later through link provided after registration that candidate can send to referees to upload the letter.

Selection Process

  • The results will be approved till May 2025, and candidates will be notified shortly.
  • Also, in principle the selection committee will only consider applications from candidates below the CERN retirement age (65 years).
  • During their stay at CERN, Corresponding Associates are expected to be on a leave of absence and receive normal salary payments from their home institute.

  • Authorised absences provided your contract of association lasts at least four months.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses depending on your individual circumstances.
  • Note : Subsistence allowance (Stipend) will be provided to cover the additional costs of living in the Geneva area.
