IIIT Delhi Internship program 2025

Each year the faculty members work on various interesting and innovative scientific project and to work under these projects, call for applicants is made as summer internship program. This internship offers learning opportunity and a stipend. The internship will begin from 6th May 2025. There are physical as well as virtula internship and provision for additional stipend given by project mentors.

Eligibility

  • Anyone with skills can apply which include:
    • Bachelors students
    • Master students
    • PhD students
  • Additional eligibility are given in project description and are mandatory.

How to apply

  • Candidate need to choose a project from the list of projects given.
  • A candidate can choose upto 3 projects to submit the proposal.
  • Candidates need to apply online and also candidates looking for hostel accomodation should check the tick box for hostel facility, which is available from 07 May 205 to 07 July 2025 on paid basis (₹5000/- per month)

Hardware and Software Integration of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface
  • Develop Arduino/ FPGA-based control circuit for reconfigurable intelligent surface.
  • Develop MATLAB-based software module to implement tracking of object and communication between a transmitter and receiver.
  • Skills required : 
    • MATLAB coding,
    • Arduino/FPGA programing and
    • Good understanding of electromagnetics and wireless communication systems.

Coil and circuit design for wireless power transfer
  • Coil and circuit design for wireless power transfer: [Simulations + Experiments]
  • Characterization of various coil designs and supporting circuits for efficient wireless power transfer between implanted devices and outer units. 
  • The simulations will be conducted using CST, and experimental results will be obtained using VNA (Vector Network Analyzer).

Generation of large-scale model of retina using AI
  • Generation of a large-scale model of the retina using AI: [AI] Creating computational networks of complex retinal networks.
  • Create a network connecting all nodes (retinal cells) that can represent the retinal response to stimulation.
  • Skills
    • Prior experience/knowledge of generative AI approaches.
    • Basic programming skills and
    • decent experience with AI/ML are essential.

Machine Learning for Wireless
  • Students will develop deep learning and LLM-based algorithms for wireless networks.
  • The focus will be on applying computer vision-based methods.
  • Skills:
    • Prior experience in Tensorflow/PyTorch

Low-Rank Adaptation for Alignment in Speech & Text LLMs
  • Adaptation/alignment of Speech and Text LLMs for zero-shot applications.
    • Pre-requisite:
    • Strong programming skills in Pytorch/TF. Experience building, training/fine-tuning DL models and LLMs on custom datasets.
    • DLOps for inference/training acceleration using custom kernels and/or PEFT including Quantization is a plus.
    • Comfortable modifying source code to implement crazy ideas and test them experimentally.
  • Stipend per month (depending on skill set):
    • 10-30K for students enrolled in Bachelors/Masters program
    • 30-40K for students enrolled in PhD program.
  • Selection will include a live coding round to test DL skills.

  • This project is about dynamic profiling of a running HPC application using hardware performance counters.
  • The profiler could do its job on a single processor and the cloud.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with C/C++/Python
    • Good understanding of OS concepts

Tenure of Fellowship : 2 months/ 3 months based on project choosen.

Selection Process

  • Candidate will be selected on the basis of their academics and extra-curriculars.
  • Some projects require additional test.
  • After selection, candidates will receive stipend too.
  • Selected candidates can check result by 15 April 2025.
  • Candidates wanted to avail hostel facility have to submit hostel fee by 10th May.
  • To take possesion of the hostel, candidate need to submit the payment slip to caretaker on arrival or by mail.
