IET Scholarship Test

The IET India Scholarship Award is designed to inspire and recognise the brightest upcoming engineering graduates in India. With a total prize worth ₹10 lakhs, this is the country’s most prestigious scholarship award for undergraduate engineers. 

Eligibility

  • Candidates who are either:
    • IET Members
    • Non-IET Members
    • Full Time Students
  • Any branch/Stream
  • Undergraduate Engineering Students from AICTE/UGC-approved institutions who are either:
    • 1st year student
    • 2nd year student
    • 3rd year student
    • 4th year student
  • Candidate should have cleared all credit courses in a single attempt with a minimum 60% aggregate (6/10 CPGA).

How to apply

  • Candidate need to submit online application and appear for STEM based test post stage 1 selection.
  • Candidate shortlisted for Stage II will have to choose the slot of online test from 25 June to 27 June to take test from 2 July to 4 July.
  • Further, shortlisted candidates will appear for Regional Presentation rounds from 25 July to 6 September.
  • Candidates selected for Stage IV will be appear for National Finals on 15 September 2025
  • There will be 4 Stages which are as follows:

* Professional bodies include membership in professional bodies, coordination activities of professional bodies, office bearer of any professional body/student chapter, contributing to professional bodies through presentations etc.
Stage IIOnline Test
(2 July to 4 July)
  • Shortlisted applicants from Stage 1 will be invited to take All-India Online Test
  • The Syllabus will cover - 
    • Physics 
    • Mathematics
    • Electrical 
    • Computer Science
    • Chemistry
    • Mechanical 
    • Electronics
  • There will be total 50 multiple choice question 
Stage IIIRegional Rounds
(25 July - 6 September)
  • Shortlisted candidates from each region will present on topics that will be given by Jury members.
  • 5 important Societal Challenges will be identified and students will be invited to present a technological solution for these.
  • Each region’s Challenge topic will be identified according to current and trending issues identified in the region.
  • The topic will be communicated to the contestants at least 10 days in advance to enable the student to prepare.
Stage IVNational Finals
(15 September)
  • The 5 winners from the Regional Rounds will make their presentations on their technology solution, and their vision for it, as they see it, for the engineering problem chosen in the previous Round.
  • The National Finals may also include a Group Discussion and the topic for this GD will be given by the jury on the day of the National Finals.

Selection Process

Stage I
  • Candidate will be assesed on basis of these criteria with these weightage-
    • Academics - 52%
    • Co-curricular Activities - 20%
    • Professional Membership - 13%
    • IET Student Membership - 15%
Stage II
  • Shortlisted Candidates from Stage I will move to Stage II.
  • The top 10% of applicants will be selected from each region:
    • North 
    • South 1
    • South 2
    • East 
    • Northeast and West 
Stage III 
  • From each region, one Winner and a Runner up will both receive prizes.
  • Winner of the regional round will move to National Finals
Stage IV
  • The National Finals will be held in Bangalore. 
  • Venue details and timings will be communicated to the shortlisted students in advance.

Prizes 

Regional Round (Held in 5 cities):
  • Winner: ₹60,000+Trophy+Certificate +IET Membership for 1 year
  • Runner up: ₹40,000 + Trophy+Certificate+IET Membership for 1 year
National Finals 
  • Winner: ₹3 lakh + Trophy + Certificate + IET Membership for 1 years
  • 1st Runner Up: ₹1 lakh 70 thousand + Trophy + Certificate + IET Membership for 1 year
  • 2nd Runner Up: ₹1 lakh 50 thousand + Trophy + Certificate + IET Membership for 1 year
