Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment, Chandigarh, DRDO invites application for Junior Research Fellows (JRF). There are total 6 vacancies, for Computer Science (03), Science (02), Environmental Science(01).

Eligibility

  • Age limit: 
    • 28 years
    • 31 years for OBC Candidates
    • 33 years for SC/ST Candidates
  • Either one of the subjects: 
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Engineering
    • Physics 
    • Geophysics 
    • Environmental Science
    • Statistics 
  • Either:

Desirable Qualification
Post Sr. No. 1 
Either:
  • ME/M.Tech in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) from a recognized University.
  • M.Sc./BE/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE in Computer Engineering/Computer Science from a recognized University. 
  • Candidate having the knowledge of numerical modelling/simulation and coding experience  
  • Knowledge of virtual reality and development in Unity.
  • Knowledge of virtual Desktop Infrastructure, HPC system and data center. 
Post Sr. No. 2 
  • Master’s in Science in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) with NET/GATE in the field of Physics/Geophysics from a recognized University. 
  • Candidate having the knowledge of numerical modelling/simulation and coding experience
Post Sr. No. 3
  • M.Sc in first division (both at Graduate and Post Graduate level) with NET / GATE in Environmental Science/ Statistics. 
  • Knowledge of Computer and statistical tools

IET Scholarship Test - Prizes upto ₹10 lakh

How to apply

  • The candidates working in Govt./Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Bodies should bring NOC from their employer at the time of walk-in-interview. 
Tenure of fellowship: 2 years or co-terminus with project, whichever is earlier 

Selection Process

  • Desirous candidates appearing for a walk-in interview are required to report at venue as per the following schedule: -
    • Reporting time would be 08:30 AM and Applications would be accepted up to 10:00 AM.
    • Initial screening and verification of testimonials would be done between 10:00-11:00 AM.
    • Interview of the screened/short listed candidates would take place from 11:00 AM onward. 
  • The candidates shall be shortlisted for the interview on the basis of criteria in order of preference:  Score of national written test of NET/GATE.
  • Percentage of marks obtained in minimum qualifying degree (will be considered only when a candidate has not appeared in NET/GATE)
  • For field data collection, the selected person will have to regularly visit and stay in the snow bound, glaciated region of Himalaya, as per requirement.
  • The fellowship may be terminated at any time during the tenure with a prior notice of one month.
