DHR Fellowship for biomedical research
Department of Health Research (DHR) invites application from interested and eligible scientists/faculty for the said program till 10th January 2025 until 05:00 pm under the FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR ACHIEVEMENTS IN BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH (FAB) Programme of Human Resource Development Scheme. To recognize the achievements of the biomedical scientists, one-time research fellowships will be given for the research work which has been published & disseminated as first/joint author or corresponding author in national & international reputed journals, aiming to encourage and motivate them for pursuing cutting edge health research

Eligibility

  • Scientist working as regular Faculty
  • Young researcher working as regular faculty
  • Scientist in either institutes
    • Instittue of National importance (INIs)
    • UGC Recognized institutes 
    • ICMR
    • NMC
    • DCI recognized medical/dental colleges in India
  • The applications has to be submitted along with the best original research publications in peer-reviewed PubMed/JCR indexed journals as a first/joint or corresponding author in last five years as indicated in application form.

How to apply

  • Candidate need to submit the following via email to fab22.hrd@gmail.com
    • Application in prescribed format (Application form given in official notification) duly signed and forwarded by Head of the parent/host institute.
    • A note giving full details of the research contributios in the field of biomedical research.
    • A short CV of the applicant (given on pg 5 and 6 of the official notification).
    • A list of 10 best peer-reviewed original research articles/papers published in from 01 January 2018 to 31 December 2023 by the applicant giving details of the research work published in national and international journals seperately and also indicating that whether the journal is indexed in Science Citation Index (SCI)/ Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) as per Journal Citation Reports (JCR) index Clarivate Analytics.
  • A certificate from the corresponding author stating that the applicant applying for the fellowship has himself/herself made significant contribution to the research work for which his/her paper is being recommended should also be submitted along with the application.
  • Applicants need to provide “No Objection Certificate” from all co-authors

Selection Process 

  • The applications will be reviewed by the panel/expert committee constituted by the competent authority based on the outcome, innovativeness, scientific contribution in the field of health research.
  • The selected scientist/researches will be felicitated for the awarded research work and will be required to deliver an oratory lecture on his/her awarded research work at a place and date decided by the DHR.

Terms and Condition 

  • The research work should be related to biomedical research national health priorities as defined in the DHR/ICMR mandate. 
  • The role of the scientist/researcher who applies for the fellowship should be clearly indicated, so as to make it easy to determine the part of the research work done by him/her, if it is a joint first author publication
  • In the event of any dispute, the onus will be on the applicant/nominee/recipient of the FAB fellowship, and DHR/ICMR will not be responsible for any such dispute arising out of counter claims.
