Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program 2025 - Stipend, airfare, visa support, housing and insurance
Eligibility
- Be full-time school teachers (6th to 12th grades) in a school that serves a primarily local (not expatriate) population;
- Have completed at least five years of full-time teaching by the application deadline in FTEA teaching disciplines:
- English,
- English as a Foreign Language (EFL),
- Social Studies,
- Mathematics,
- Science,
- Special Education;
- PhD in fields that are not related to Fullbright TEA
- Live and teach in India;
- Have earned a bachelor’s degree;
- Be citizens of and residents in India;
- Be present in India at the time of submitting the application and for the interview;
- Obtain a minimum score of 45 on iBT TOEFL or equivalent English language examination*;
- Demonstrate a commitment to continue teaching after completion of the program; and
- Former participant of any other US government-funded professional development exchange programs, candidates are advised to talk to USIEF about their eligibility.
Not Eligible:
- Former participant of
- TEA,
- International Leaders in Education (ILEAP) program
- Partners in Education (PiE)
- Fullbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program
- Fullbright Teacher Exchange Program
- Educational Administrators (such as representatives or officials of the Ministry of Education)
- School Administrations (who do not teach atleast 50 % of time).
- Full time teacher trainer
- University faculty
- Private English Language Tutor
- Teachers from school primarily serving expatriates
- Staff or family of US Embassy or Fullbright Commission
How to Apply
- Candidate need to apply online with supporting documents.
- Candidate can apply only to either FTEA or FDAI and applying to both will make candidate ineligible for both.
Selection Process
- Fulbright TEA fellows will be selected through a merit-based open competition according to the eligibility and criteria below.
- Candidates can take test of TOEFL and interview in the end of April 2025.
- Top candidates will be interviewed by a selection panel and must take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or provide valid results from within the past year (test date no earlier than May 2024).
- Selected candidates will be notified till September 2025.
