Waves Comic Contest

WAVES Comic Chronicles in parternship with Google Play and Dashtoon presents a competition for all to put their creativity and drawing skills to test and win great cash prizes and goodies and also to get a certificate from Government of India. 

Eligibility

  • This challenge is open to nominations from individuals of all countries and nationalities.
  • Either: 
    • Student
    • Professional 
    • Amateur
  • Dashtoon, Google Play and IAMAI employees are not eligible to participate

How to apply

  • Candidate need to choose either of the two tracks:
    • General - Open to all
    • Students - Full time students in any recognised institution
  • Candidate need to create atleast 60 panels (One image or scene is counted as one panel) 

Selection Process

Story will be selected on the basis of following

Evaluation ParameterDescription
Storytelling and CreativityThe storyline should be engaging, with well-paced progression that captivates readers.
Creativity in the use of themes and ideas is essential, showcasing innovative approaches to storytelling.
Artistic QualityEntries should demonstrate an effective use of color to enhance the narrative, set the mood, and amplify the storytelling experience.

Panel layout and composition

Entries should feature innovative and dynamic layouts that enrich the narrative.
The flow of action and dialogue between panels should be smooth and intuitive to maintain reader engagement.
Emotional ImpactComics will be judged on their ability to evoke emotions such as humor, tension, or romance.
Entries should include memorable moments that leave a lasting impression on readers and heighten the overall impact of the story.
Speech and DialougeNatural and effective dialogue is an important criterion, ensuring conversations feel authentic and relatable.
The use of text should complement the visuals, providing support to the narrative without detracting from the artwork.

Rewards

  • Top three winners get to present their comics at the WAVES Summit.
  • Top 25 participants get a goodie bag sponsored by Google Play & Dashtoon and certificate of excellence and recognition by IAMAI and Dashtoon.
  • All participants get a certificate of participation upon a valide entry.
